‘The Future is Food’ is a Transition Year Unit that has been developed by The Taste Council in collaboration with Bord Bia, educators, food producers, food professionals and chefs.
Learning
‘The Future is Food’ helps students to gain a better understanding of the Irish artisan food sector, as well as the wider food industry.
Experience
Students will gain valuable experience of setting up and managing a food mini
company while also learning how their food is produced. Teachers are also encouraged to
engage with local food producers who will share their experience of the food industry.

‘The Future is Food’ shows that a career in the Irish food sector is open to all students with an interest in food and enterprise.
